We’ve written about this in the past, but it’s good to see a major mainstream information outlet finally pull out the media guns and start firing. In this case, it was Fred Barnes and the Weekly Standard.

Last January, a “confidential” memo from a Democratic political consultant outlined an ambitious scheme for spending $11.7 million in Colorado this year to crush Republicans. The money would come from rich liberal donors in the state and would be spent primarily on defeating Senate candidate Bob Schaffer ($5.1 million) and Representative Marilyn Musgrave ($2.6 million), who are loathed by liberals for sponsoring a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. The overarching aim: Lock in Democratic control of Colorado for years to come.

As Barnes points out, Tim Gill and three other super wealthy Liberals are pretty much looking control the Government in the state of Colorado with almost $12,000,000 in cash. It’s interesting to note that Tim Gill is now sticking his fingers into Oklahoma politics as well, so Oklahomans should be aware of what might be coming.

And let this be a warning to virtually every other free state in the union as well.

The Democratic surge in Colorado reflects the national trend, but it involves a great deal more. There’s something unique going on in Colorado that, if copied in other states, has the potential to produce sweeping Democratic gains nationwide. That something is the “Colorado Model,” and it’s certain to be a major topic of discussion when Democrats convene in Denver in the last week of August for their national convention.

Have no doubt, the super wealthy, far left, anti-free market crowd is looking to dominate state and local governments. Once they have control they will empower unions even further, pile on the tax increases, cause significant damage to the economy, and pretty bankrupt the American dream.

Be warned.

With this in mind it shouldn’t come as a surprise that their next target is the US Constitution. As if having law hungry attorneys dominate Congress, chomping at the bits to bend legal documents to suit their political agendas, the left is now launching a law firm that will likely spend most of its time taking the words of the Constitution out of context, and using activist courts to get away with it.

a new liberal think tank and public interest law firm launched in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, hoping to catch a progressive wave in both election politics and scholarly research on the meaning of the nation’s founding document.

“There’s nobody out there systematically making the argument that the Constitution’s text and history are on the progressive side,” says Douglas Kendall, founder of the new Constitutional Accountability Center. “The Constitution is, in its most vital respects, a progressive document.”

Well, the reason nobody is making that argument is because it’s absurd. The “progressive side” stands for everything the founding fathers went to war with England over.

To spread the word and take it into court, Kendall has assembled liberal stalwarts — and liberal money — to back his effort and support his view that, unlike unsuccessful liberal efforts in the past, his approach of embracing the Constitution’s text has the best shot of recapturing the constitutional high ground from conservatives. Yale Law School’s Akhil Amar and Jack Balkin and Duke’s Walter Dellinger are advisers, and George Soros’ Open Society Institute is a major funder. Ron Klain, former chief of staff to Al Gore and now an investment adviser for progressives, is also on board. Startup money totals nearly $2 million.

Kendall’s 10-year-old public interest group Community Rights Counsel, which used text-based arguments to fend off constitutional attacks on environmental laws, will close and morph into the new organization.

“We should embrace the Constitution rather than conceding it,” Amar says. “It is not the unique inheritance of conservatives.” Amar thinks the conservative Federalist Society has been “hugely successful” in shaping the debate over the Constitution for years, and the time is right to fight back.

The American Constitution Society, the liberal counterpart to the Federalist Society, is also supporting Kendall’s new organization. “He is taking on conservatives on their own terms,” says the society’’ executive director, Lisa Brown. “It’s absolutely time to reclaim this debate.”

Get ready freedom loving friends, the left is waging an all out war on America as we know it.

More than 2.5 million people read pages of Think Progress every month. Quite a staggering number, and something free-market minded Americans should pay close attention to.

While some in mainstream communication realms might not see this as a significant story, many more of us are starting to uncover the dark agenda that drives the left wing propaganda machine at Think Progress.

What are the Origins of Think Progress?
Here is what we know…

1) Think Progress is a Project of The Center for American Progress Action Fund
The Center for American Progress Action Fund is a “progressive” think-tank. Their “partner” is The Center for American Progress, a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue code.

The Center for American Progress is ran by former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta. That’s right… Think Progress is essentially a tool of the Clinton machine.

In fact, George Soros and Halperin recruited Harold Ickes — chief fundraiser and former deputy chief of staff for the Clinton White House — to help organize the Center.

With this in mind, it’s interesting to notice the Center’s use of Think Progress to attack John McCain, when they won’t lift a finger to send negative attention to Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.

So much for “non-partisan”.

2) The Bloggers are Far Left Operatives
Faiz Shakir, the editor at Think Progress, is also the Research Director at the Center for American Progress. Faiz has previously worked as a Research Associate for the Democratic National Committee, as a Legislative Aide to Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL) on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and as a communications aide in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Amanda Terkel is Deputy Research Director at the Center for American Progress and serves as Managing Editor for The Progress Report and Think Progress at the Center for American Progress. Terkel also worked in the Office of Liberal Democrat Senator Charles E. Schumer.

Also working as editors/writers/bloggers for Think Progress are Satyam Khanna, Matt Corley, Benjamin J. Armbruster, Ali Frick, Matthew Duss, Brad Johnson, Sarah Dale and Igor Volsky.

Not surprisingly, every one of the above individuals are on the payroll of either the Center for American Progress or the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

3) New Sub-Blogs ATTACKERMAN and WONK ROOM
Wonk Room is pretty much ran by the same ilk that edit the main Think Progress site. But Attackerman has a different background when it comes to blogger-in-chief. As Konservo points out, Spencer Ackerman runs Attackerman, supposedly covering National Security Issues. As Konservo mentions, Ackerman works for The Washington Independent, who, ironically is owned by the Center for Independent Media.

The Center for Independent Media is ran by a group of wealthy tech liberals and Democrat party operatives/campaign consultants. These folks aren’t messing around either. As mentioned above, the groups involved in this progressive/liberal ring of propaganda sites are also tied to Media Matters, the Soros funded liberal attack machine.

Just how active and aggressive are these groups in using the internet to spread their agenda? According to Shot in The Dark, the Center for Independent Media has been working to hire liberal/progressive bloggers in the state of Minnesota. An e-mail sent out via the Center for Independent Media makes it clear that the Soros machine is hiring a left wing army aimed at bringing free-market/limited-government advocates to their knees.

Have no doubts, Think progress is not independent, not non-partisan, and not in any way a center of the political isle source of information. Instead, the site is a vessel through which the Soros money machine can funnel its left wing agenda.

Jim Roth continues to lead in raising money for his bid to win a full six-year term on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, campaign reports show.

Contributors include Tim Gill, a top gay and lesbian equal rights movement fundraiser, who gave the maximum donation of $5,000.

Gill, an entrepreneur and software developer from Denver, was among those identified by state Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, as helping contribute $30 million in 2006 to local and state races to help defeat conservative candidates.

Tim GIll has been said to be “the nexus of an aggressive new force in national politics”, so his involvement in Oklahoma races has to make you wonder what his special interest is in this particular candidate.

Roth, a former Oklahoma County commissioner, raised $100,141 during the first quarter of this year, according to his campaign committee’s report filed with the state Ethics Commission. He had $112,482 at the start of the reporting period. He spent $44,298 during the reporting period from Jan. 1 through March 31, his reports show. He has $174,475 on hand.

In addition to Gill, major contributors listed on Roth’s report include Edmond attorney Reggie Whitten, Denver entrepreneur Jared Polis, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., retiree James Stepp, $5,000 each; El Reno attorney Mark Henricksen, $3,000; and Ronald Ansin, a business executive from Harvard, Mass., $2,500.

Ironically, the Blue Fund Group is not doing so well.

So far this year, that fund has underperformed both its large-cap growth category and the Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index, according to Chicago investment-research firm Morningstar Inc.

While the article does a good job of making sure it includes reality… specifically that left wing factions of American politics are spending massive amounts of money, I disagree with a lot of its base argument.

For example:

Financed by many of the nation’s wealthiest investors and business leaders, as well as millions of small donors, these organizations are responsible for a flood of political attack advertising. Their work threatens to drown out the traditional voices of the Republican and Democratic parties and undercut the presidential candidates’ efforts to control their own messages.

For one, I believe the “message” is as diluted as possible in order to ignore the real issues and flood the public with non-essential BS. I also believe the two party system has corrupted American politics, and reform is badly needed.

There for, I’m personally not against the idea of American entrepreneurs spending money on reforming the political landscape. However, I am against the constant attacks from the left screaming that “the right is rich and we are not”, when the left is spending just as much, if not far more than the right.

In Stealth Campaigns, it is made clear that far left groups such as Democracy Alliance are pumping huge amounts of money in to American politics.

And the attacks will come hot and heavy now that Brock has taken on the lead role at “Progressive Media USA”. According to Politico, PMUSA is gearing up to launch a four month, $40 MILLION DOLLAR campaign centered around a plan to attack John McCain.

Wealthy Democrats are preparing a four-month, $40 million media campaign centered on attacks on Sen. John McCain. And it will be led by David Brock, the former investigative reporter who first gained fame in the 1990s as a right-wing, anti-Clinton journalist.

The planned campaign is the product of a shakeup in the top ranks of the struggling independent Democratic groups. Brock, now best known as the ex-conservative founder of the liberal group Media Matters, last month quietly assumed the chairmanship of what’s expected to be the main vehicle for independent Democratic attacks on McCain, now called Progressive Media USA.

Brock recently met with George Soros and others of his ilk to lay out the attack strategy. Apparently, Soros liked what he saw and gave the project his blessing.

Keep your eyes on this one, folks. It’s going to get dirty.
